At the time this episode aired Malcolm-Jamal Warner was a cast member of the landmark The Cosby Show as Theodore Huxtable. That explains the "Cosby Show" reference in which Eric says "A family spending time together. I thought that only happened on "The Cosby Show". Warner would later direct an episode of Fresh Prince.
