Taylor: Summer, getting a man is like capturing a wily silverback gorilla in the Ugandan highlands. You see, nature is telling that gorilla to stay in the wild. But you and I know that that gorilla would be much happier back in the zoo on a normal feeding schedule. But sometimes he's just got to roar and beat his chest before you shoot him with a tranq dart.
Summer: So what you're saying is he's trying to exert his gorilla independence.
Taylor: Exactly.

Ryan: Seth, uh, I gotta ask. Did you really get into Brown?
Seth: Did I get into—? Ryan, now who's smoking pot. Listen to me: the only class that I've ever gotten less than an A in is gym. My essay on the loneliness of being Superman made Mrs. Rushfield cry. So of course I... augh, how could I not get in?

I heart FRIENDS: Trivia

The original idea for the show was going to focus on four characters with Phoebe and Chandler in supporting roles. In the early stages the creators toyed with the idea of Chandler being gay. They changed their mind when they met Matthew Perry. They did, however, insert many jokes about Chandler having gay mannerisms (not knowing about sports, loving show tunes, etc.).

The "Wookiee prisoner gag" that Sawyer, Kate, and Alex use to fool Aldo at the Dharma facility where Carl is being held is the same trick Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, and Chewbacca use to enter the Death Star's prison during Episode IV: A New Hope .Karl is kept in room 23, Similarly Han, Luke and Chewbacca rescue Princess Leia from Cell Block AA23

A Clockwork Orange (1971)

The room where Kate, Sawyer and Alex find Alex's boyfriend, is a near reenactment from the movie A Clockwork Orange where the anti-hero Alex de Large played by Malcolm McDowell is 'treated' in a psychiatric facility to abandon his unlawful ways. In the movie, Alex de Large is made to watch propaganda films and fed drugs all day.
